Beginnings
Everyone has a beginning: a place where all things start;
where words are formless; and the earth’s simplest elements
blend together into a sea of colour.
It is a cocoon; a pocket before time with roots that are thick and strong and
thoughts that are vague, while emotions run clear and wild.
It is a time when stillness is not seen but felt.
And, the act of silence has only one prerequisite: to be.
Birth is a magical event: a soul newly unleashed;
an act of breathing life into virginal lungs and of knowing little
beyond the touch, taste, smell, emotion, and warmth of just one other body:
mommy.
It is a time when instincts still keep one alive,
the potential of all humanity exists within us all,
and the world is brand new.
Everyone has a beginning.
Mercifully, mine has had many.
